This is the second post in a back to school series. Last post I talked about Creating a Family Drop Zone. Today we’ll be talking about how you can get the kid’s bathroom set-up so that it stays organized.
The most important thing about organizing the kid’s bathroom is to not do everything by yourself. It’s important to make your kids part of the process so that they can help keep their own bathroom organized.
The first thing that helps with making things visually decluttered is to make counters clutter free. You can do this by making sure that everything has a home where it is put away.
Keep bath toys in a space that they can drain and that can be moved out of the way when not needed. You can do like Andrea from Inspired Home did and use a shower rod and dollar store baskets with holes to drain the water.
Assign each child a color – so they know that is their towel, their cup and toothbrush…and when one isn’t put away we will all know whose it is.
Use hooks for hanging towels and make it low enough so that kids can hang their towel by themselves
One final thing you can think about for the bathroom is a nightlight. I found these led outlet covers that would be great. This way you are using less electricity and you won’t be using up a plug space with a night light.
Just remember is that you need to teach the kids to take care of their own space. That means putting things back away where they got them from. If you redo your kid’s bathroom, I would love to see pictures!
